- Have recieved words from the people at ProcessTree[tm] that data will
be made available, still waiting on that though. Oh,
http://supercomputer.i.am/ is now definitely dead, use
http://jansson.net/distributed/ instead
- 2001-07-17
- I thought I should mention that this project was mentioned in
LaTimes on july 12th
in a story about distributed computing.
Still no words from the people at ProcessTree[tm].
- 2001-06-27
- Long time no seen. The analysis of the first CD's is still
on-going, however quite slow due to other duties. Have no information
regarding the progress of ProcessTree[tm] and GammaFlux. Especially the
data gathered by them are still to be shipped to me.
- 2001-02-08
- The extraction code have arrived and the analysis of the first CD's
is on the way (data from version 1). The results will be published on the
results page as soon as
possible. More data are also about to be shipped from the ProcessTree[tm]
volunteer project.

This gamma flux project is now the first
ProcessTree[tm] Volunteer distributed project!
(ProcessTree[tm] was formerly known as DCypher.Net.)
The analysis of the data recieved 2000-10-06 is currently on hold since I
am waiting for extraction code from DCypher.Net to be able to read the
data from the CD's. Furthermore, as you may have noticed, the original
java applet is now up for display.

-
4 CD's with data arrived yesterday from DCypher.Net. Will begin the
analysis promptly. Also, faq answer
#4 have been updated.

-
Some more analysis of the first batch of data from DCypher.Net
have been performed! The results may be found on the
results page.
There is not much more to be presented using this first set of data.
When I get my hands on more data, some more impressive plots will be
presented. :-)

It has been a while since the last news update...
That's probably because nothing have happened, I am still waiting for
data from Dcypher.Net that may be subjected to analysis.
Well, the longer it takes for the next version, the more data will
have been produced with the previous version. Looking forward to that
data...

Back for another news update. Seems like Gamma Flux version 2 from
Dcypher.Net is imminent.
Stay tuned for the latest analysed results as soon as data become
available!
The coverage in The New York Times regarding this
project should increase the number of participants. Great! :-)
The contents of http://supercomputer.i.am have now moved to
http://www.jansson.net.

-
A lot of people have been asking for an update on the information
regarding the goals of this project now with the DCypher.Net effort
and everything.
So, finally, I made an attempt and updated the
FAQ.

-
Well, I thought it was time for another news update.
Made some minor corrections to the site (polishing the appearance) and put up
a small advertising link on the
front page: Go and participate!
Oh, by the way, the DCypher effort is doing better than ever!
- 2000-03-15
-
Plots of the gamma flux as calculated by the DCypher.Net collective effort
are now available! (At last.) See them on the DCypher.Net
results page.
- 2000-02-04
- Data from Dcypher is being downloaded. Stay tuned for analysed results!
- 2000-01-07
- Back from vacation. The
DCypher.net project seem to be running just fine. The net for this
site is still closed from the outside but I am working on solving that
small dilemma. By the way, no milennium bug
seem to have caused any problem, not even here.
For news from the previos millenium, go here.
BACK to the intro.
